Voltage issues with LED

I'm having trouble with the guides I've seen on how to install LEDs or other add on components (which doesnt come in a kit or what ever),

I've seen a guide but I dont really understand it, like i think the technical issues comes with using the resistor and the site provided me with a calculator

so I am a littel confused, you are trying to wire LED lights into your PSU??

Well...actually inside the mouse, there's two way, one using that that big wire and one using that black rectanlge thing....

but idk how resistors work so yah...the guide told me to use resistors...

ho ho ho, i did my senior project on LED. first you need to find what voltage your mouse has then you need to calculate the ammount of ohm of resister to be used then you solder it on and boom there you're for the calculation and simple picuter of the wiring go to this site, it helped me how to link leds so i can modify a maglite flash.

ya I think a resistor just limits power to whatever compenent ie ,LED so you dont blow it up.
