Video Card OC BFG 6800gt oc

I've just overclocked my BFG 6800 gt oc by using the detect optimal frequencies and it ended up with 439mhz/1.13ghz from
370/1000mhz it seems to be running fine though alittle hot.Just concerned it because it's running faster then Ultra now that it's too good to be true. Anybody else with a similar card get detected that high.

Yea. but for heating purposes i leave it at ultra settings.

This just means, you need more cooling...

It's an addictive cycle, and when your card maxes out overclocking, than you need a new one... But they dont always make a better one

Yeah, you just need more cooling, rather then stoping/lowering settings. But it would help alot if you told us your temps... Thats a nice OC man. I cant stand the 6800's ChipsetCore speed. Those cards really need a OC.

Not much of a range -- before overclock 56 - 60 ,after OC 60-63 C
1 or 2 degrees higher if i play Far Cry for some reason.

I dont know my temps. I just go till there is artifacts, but i can go higher casue of water cooling but it makes my room hot enough. Its fine just where it is for right now.

I tried the "detect settings" and it gave me 420/1100. The highest I have had it mannually is 425/1100. Haven't tried it any higher. I figure I'll push it when I need to, but for right now it does just fine at it's stoc (oc) speeds.
