i got the 8800 ultra . and i was thinking of geting 2 8800gt
and going sli well the 2 8800 gt beat the ultra

I think he meant to say 'will the 2 8800 gt beat the ultra' if you meant that, then yes, 2 8800GT do beat an ultra.

Only in games that are optimized for SLI. If you already have an ultra, why not just hang on to it. SLI is somewhat of a pain to get set up, and if you plan to run dual monitors, you have to add a third video card to run both SLI and 2nd monitor. Also, for the amount of performance difference vs the amount of time/effort/money to sell the ultra/buy gt/setup you wont really gain all that much. Only reason i jumped on SLI is that i got my cards dirt cheap, and to be honest, a single GT is more than enough to play every game i have.
