Default upgradez to whats?

ok I want to run hl2 at 50-60+frames

what do i need to upgrade.

I have

amd sempron 3000+ socket 754
512 DDR 3200 ram
and a fx5200.

I reckon i should upgrade my card first. Maybe to a 9800.
But maybe i shuld upgrade my processor to an athlon 64. This is where you come in

p;lz only ansa if you know hl2 well.

I don't know much about Semprons, but maybe you should chuck another 512 stick of ram in. The 754 socket AMD CPUs cost a bit more than the s939 ones, maybe you should just build a new rig?

If you don't though, I'd get a 3000+ - 3500+ or better if you can afford it, 512mb more ram, and a 6600GT at least. Or a 6800GS is you can afford it.

Throw in another stick of 512 and get a 6800GS,That shouldn't be a big hit to the wallet and it will let you play most game's no problem,That should do you untill you can afford to build a better setup.

The same advice for me.

Definitely go for some RAM first. If u have some more budget, then invest in a better graphic card.

ram and then graphics card. hl2 tends to choke without 1gb+ of ram. even on my system my pagefile gets used. that 3000+ sempron should be fine. but you will definitely need a new graphics card

HL2 and BF2 both recommend at least 512mb of ram, But really you want at least 1gb for them, Even more for BF2.
