Default Upgrades

I am looking for my next upgrade and can't decide on which component to upgrade. I was thinking ram. How often do you need more ram? Like if I got 2 gbs of ram, how many years would that last until programs need more than 2? Thanks!

Ok cool, ill probably get both. Any suggestions on the PSU? And finally, someone remembers me!
