Question UPGRADE x1600pro to 8800?

When i play DODs i get about 30-40fps with crap settings, and about 40fps on CSS with ok settings. Im thinking of buying an 8800 320mb off of ebay. I do play games on widescreen monitor.
My specs are:
x1600pro 512mb
AMD 64bit 3200+
2GB RAM
KN8 SLI motherboard
450w PSU

Can my PC handle this video card? will the fact that my pc isnt that great make it suck? Will my fps double? post back, thanks!
I will also re format if i get a new card and will upgrade my cpu, mobo, and ram later.

well, your current system wont be able to take full advantage of such a card, but it will be a great upgrade.

however, i would *****NOT****** buy the 320mb gts. For the same price go ahead and get an 8800gt 512mb. it has the newer g92 architecture... if you want to spend a little more, go ahead and get the 8800gts 512mb g92 version ( i think all 512mb of the GTS are g92 though).

personally i would get an 8800gt and with the extra money you can start upgrading other peices too.

30bucks for 2gb of crucial ddr2 800 ram @ newegg. not sure what kind of ram you hjave now though.

a new processor would help a lot too. the amd 5000+ brisbane black edition is fairly cheap and can OC quite well. i think its 100 bucks, and youll be able to get it over 3 ghz.

This guy on here has a 7950gt for sale, its a great card, costs way less than any 8800 card, and your system will be able to use it to its full potential.

xfx 7950 gt use for sale
