Your motherboard manual should have specific instructions. It varies slightly for each motherboard.

You have two ways to do it. One, is use a program from Windows. Most motherboard manufacturers have one available. This isn't as safe as method 2, but it is quick and easy.

The other way, the proper way, is to burn the necessary update files to a bootable media, like a floppy, CD, usb drive..etc. Then, (this is where it varies), you boot from a flash menu, or off the media, and type some commands to begin the flashing process.

Like I said, you should be able to find exact instructions in your motherboard manual.
