You can change the FSB but that would increase the RAM and PCI/AGP clocks as well. For some they just want to chage the cpu speed.

On some motherboards you can lock the AGP/PCI bus at its default speed (66/33).

Yea thats true, but on AMDs most of the cpus are locked.

hey lol,well im not even worried about unlocking it if i can, im proubly gonna go for a water cooling kit and run it at 3ghz ive heard of it running at 2.7ghz with air cooling, ok my cpu stock at 1.8ghz runs better than a 2.4ghz p4 ht, so this cpu at 2.3ghz sounds good already, but can u imagine it at like 3ghz?! umm thats insane

Nearly all processors from both Intel and AMD come with multipliers locked. I've told you before that making provoking comments isn't cool, and that didn't help the guy with his question at all, so please try and restrain yourself, or I will have to do it for you

Yes an XP processor at 2.3ghz is actualy really good. MY 2600+ at the time i had it was at 2.3ghz and it ran better than alot of my friends equivalent P4s and better. I have a 3000+ now, anybody know how high i can get it?

I wouldnt pay for somethig like that though. I modded a chip myself to make an XP to an MP for my dad. Worx like a charm.
