This question might belong in the hardware section but i will ask anyway is it ok to run your PC in the turbo mode if your ram can handle it and it boots and runs great for hours at a time just fine?
Will it eventually hurt anything?

are we talking about a 386, 486 computer? if it's that old i would leave it on turbo. turbo is probably the same thing in modern computers.

it overclocks your system to get a performance increase with the tradeoff of higher system temps and shorter hardware life. it usually takes a long time though, by the time it fails on you its time to buy a new computer.

I think its a Gigabyte BIOS thing, I have seen it as well. There are three 'modes' you can select, normal, turbo and manual. It just seems to bump up the bus speed.

Open to correction on that though, I know very little about BIOS.
