Tech ARP - The Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Overclocking Report

You're not going to hit 4.0 on air...sorry to burst your bubble, but you have to get too much voltage to get that high. These guys were using water cooling rigs and couldn't quite hit 4. The Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme is the best air cooler right now (see the benchmark results in that AnandTech article references earlier).

well we've got a q6600 that hit 4.0 ghz here... not saying its 24/7 stable but its been hit... (mcgook)... if he just wanted to set a super pi record... i'm almost certain he'll do 4 ghz.. but for every day use.. i say you'll max out around 3.4-3.6ghz daily use
