Default temps on intel

can some1 tell me a program that can check the temp on a intel p4 and whats a safe temp for a p4.

35-60, for your 2.8 i would say 45 is safe at idle. Thats what my 2 are at.

Intel d865perl, 2.8ghz northwood, antec sonata, wd caviar 20gb, Corsair 512mbx1 for now. 380watt psu, ati 9600, dvdrom cdrw floppy in black too match case

If it is a prescott then anything 45-65 is good, if it is a northwood anything 35-50 is good.

in bios it says its 31. but i want to check it when im in windows, so can some 1 tell me a program that i can download for free.

MBM5, but either way don't trust those programs, they always read cool, readings from your bios are your best bet
