Question temp probe placement

hello i have an aspire case with digital tem readout inside ther is a wire with a paper thin piece of wire or something i assume this is the temp probe where does that go my best guess is in between the cpu and the heatsink is this correct ? thanks also what is a normal temp on these things

If you put the probe between the heatsink and CPU you might not get the full performance out of your heatsink so your temps might be a little higher than normal. You can place it under the CPU, here's a link for help on doing that.

You should be getting temps around 40C idle and 58C load if you have the stock heatsink and fan.

thanks mine didnt come with any tape can i use regular tape or do i need a certain kind

you can use a "VERY" small piece of electrical tape. I think that should work
