Default is stock opteron 165 better than x2 3800

both processors stock, which one is better?

Stock would be the X2 3800+ higher clock speeds extra L2 cache doesnt help much. But for OC'ing the Opty165

o icic, but do u think i can reach 2.0 with teh opty 165 with these specs

mobo : msi k8n neo 4-f
ram: 2x1024 corsair value ram

im just a little scared to get it cuz of my ram, its oc ability is very low since its value ram and i dont pay any more money cuz im kinda off my budget already

you could reach higher than 2.0ghz you prolly can get it to 2.6ghz

exactly how much will my ram speed be slowed down by, if i oced my 165 to maybe lets say... 2.4 gigz?

well first thing is that u might get a dud so don't get ur hopes up 2 high

as for deviders just try and keep ur ram at 200mhz /400mhz ddr useing them and it won't make a differance to speed. the ram will be the same as stock. but u might as well see how far it will go before u use a devider

Well first of all you need to fix up your english its divider and using and difference

Then its easy to run a divider, i wrote a section in static_11's what to look for when buying a new computer thread located in the high performance section so you can read somethings about it
