no, i dont feel like running my computer 24/7 wasting power. i work and go to school a majority of the day, so no use in jacking up the power bill.

plus i can't sleep with it running, its too annoying

my computer maitnence told me that turning the pc on and off a lot warps the mobo or somthing... i have mine on stadby A LOT cuz it leaves low voltage on it.

videocard is like 200watt idle... the power thing in the control panel only shuts down the moniter, not the video card right?

Its only about $5-$10 a month or so, running 24/7. Im not even sure how much mine uses, im sure its less.

With a 500w PSU its actually closer to $30 to running 24/7, at least in the US.

Electric Power Monthly - Average Retail Price of Electricity to Ultimate Customers by End-Use Sector, by State

Average seems to be roughly 9cents per kilowatt per hour.

500 watts is exactly half of of a kw, so its easy. It costs you 4.5 cents to run it per hour, which is roughly $32 a month.
