Yeah so im thinking about overclocking my am2 4200+ but i wanted to get a new fan first, for a few reasons.

1) it sounds like a **** chainsaw compared to my P4 Computer.
2) Isnt THAT great for overclocking

yeah, so i was wondering does anybody recommend any fan in perticular for me to get?

how is the Zalman fan?

also looking for a GPU cooler for my 7900GT

I think the stock fans are very quiet, and work really good.

Get a Zalman Vf-900 for the 7900GT.

The stock AMD fan is 70mm, which is a very uncommon fan size. The only other fan I've ever seen for sale that was 70mm was a Delta, which would be very loud anyway, but heluva lot more efficient.

I have a Zalman CNPS9500 LED and I love it....it's very quiet....when it's at 100% is makes some noise but still is pretty quiet

Things I hate about stock AM2 fans.

-Hard to install.
-Heavy chunk of aluminum with poor design.
-Thin fan.
-single mounting point for the clip don't feel secure. Would much rather have had the 3 points like 754 and 939 sockets did with the four screwes holding the bracket on.
