I plan to use self etching primer, flat back "background" and a light misting of maroon around the "corners" and "edges" to give it a bit less "generic" paint job. I may also splash some UV sensitive or Glow paint on it so things look pretty sweet with cathodes.
Side note- it may not be required, but I also plan to put some Topper on to save paint job from easily scratching (you can get gloss finish and standard) it's just clear coat, a good few layers of it will help prevent accidental scratching of your new work of art.
