sry but i prefer the amd over intels....i was trying to get the 9800pro but it seems alot of money

i've still narrowed it down to the 9600xt or the 9800pro...any suggestions bout nvidia cards that are the equivelents to the ati's...i just want a card that is at a low price and can play settings on games like bf1942,aa,and cod on max.

Many think that the 6600gt is better than the 9800 pro. They are both about the same price.

In the last generation of graphics cards (eg ATI Radeon 9800, Nvidia Geforce 5950) ATI graphics cards are better than Nvidia. So, if you chose to get a older card like a ATI 9600 or 9800 or Nvidia 5600 or 5950 go with the ATI cards.

Current generation (ATI Radeon X800, Nvidia Geforce 6800) Nvidia cards are better than ATI cards. So out of the newer cards like Ati x600, x800 or Nvidia 6600, 6800 go with the Nvidia Cards.

depends where you shop from really, but from what ive looked at - yes, ati and nvidia cards are similar in price.
