Sluggish after game close

Ive overclocked my Radeon 5850, and after i get done with a Crysis 2 session, my desktop is very slow. Opening folders with ~10 pictures in them take almost 15-20 seconds to load, etc, etc. But curiously enough after about 3 minutes everything is back to normal. Is this a normal phenomenon? Thanks.

My guess that it might be your ram while it cleans up the files that were opened ??
