Should I OC?

My system specs are as follows:

Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.8GHz
2 gigs ram
Nvidia 8600GT (1GB)
I run XP

Would I get a noticable speed increase if I did so?



I'm a bit worried about heat, and I don't really know how to overclock. I'm just curious if I should even bother attmepting it.

What kind of motherboard do you have?

If it's a prebuilt you won't be able to, since the bios will be locked. If not, then you shoud get an aftermarket cpu cooler to keep temps down.

I built it myself.

The motherboard is an Abit LG-95.

What would you recommend for cooling?

its always worth it to OC. I ran an E2180 w/ stock intel heatsink @ 2.9ghz. They run pretty cool but a new cooler never hurts either.

Fair warning though, once you start overclocking, it can quickly get out of hand.

You aren't joking. I really want to get some extreme cooling to see what this 720 can do...bwahahaha...

read the overclocking guide we have here. You shouldn't run off and OC without some basic knowledge. once you have read that and starting overclocking come back and we can help you out.
