I recently sent my motherboard in for repair, and have recieved it back. I have purchased some "ArtiClean" (I don't like the idea of using powerful solvents on my die) to clean of the remnents of the themal pad that came with my P4's heatsink. I have not been able to find sufficent instruction on how to do this for Artic's site. So...
1.)How best to scrape off pad? Credit card?
2.)Once most of the pad it off and it is time to use the stuff, how do I avoid getting any of the cleaner on anythign but my die? (it is a liquid and will flow accordingly) Masking (and how do I do it, what about adhesive residue from any tape I use?)?
3.) Any tips on applying the AS compound (new thermal goop) once both HS and die are clean?
