removing hard drive cover and replacing it with plexiglass??

i heard a rumor somewhere that somone removed there hard drive cover and replaced it with a a piece of plexiglass?? if this can be done how can i come about doing this?? i'm wanting to add some extra fan's to my dimension 3000?? but don't know how to come about doing this?? i have the fans.

ok instead of makign 5 threads you should have made oen and adressed all thes problems some oen pelase merge these 5 threads.
