After my thread the other day and my searches came up with no answers i have decided i will solve my own problem 
. i was searching for a removable sata hdd rack that doubles as an external enclosure with USB. my solution......i'm going to buy a standard SATA removable hdd rack and a cheap piece of crap external enclosure. i'll cannibalise the enclosure for the USB controller and if possible find a way to install it in the rack, perhaps with a switch to enable and disable it. but i don't think its possible to fit the controller and everything else necessary in it. so failing that i'll just mount the controller pcb in a box and drill some holes for the necessary connections (sata, power to drive, dc power in and USB) then figure a way to connect it to the removable drive. shouldn't be too difficult.
