Reformating too many times

Hey I just wanted to know if reformating your computer too many times is bad and if it is why.

How often is too many times? Two or three times a day every day may reduce the life of your hard-drive by a ridiculously small amount, but I doubt it.

like i reformat about once every few months and just wanted to know if this would affect my pc's performance at all.

What operating system are you using? If you are using a 95/98/ME version, it is a MUST to reformat about every three months to keep your system running optimal. With XP, however, that is different. An XP installation will last indefinately if you take care of it. As for formatting too many times, i've heard of this happening on older hard drives, but haven't heard much about it on newer ones. If I were worried about it, i would do a "quick" format every time because that will erase everything but won't fully format your disk.

i have xp and I reformat every, 3-4 months. It lets you start over and get the crap off there that you were stupid enough to install. Speeds it up. As for HDD killing, not anymore is this an issue
