Hey In my bios there's an option to set each ram timing as 'Auto'. They've been kept at auto ever since I started ocing, is this smart / safe or shall I insert the timings manually. My timings currently are:
2.5-4-3-7 and they are auto'd cpu is 3500+ 2.7ghz running at stability but can't proceed any further, also wanted to know if I loosened timings I wonder if I can oc further

Any help would be great
Thanks

Loosened timings = more stabilitity but slower.

Tighter timings = faster, but less stable unless you find your sweet spot.

What ram do you currently have?

Pc3200 ddr400 RAM 2x 512mb dual channel, don't currently know the manufacturer need to open my pc to check that out

Okay a question.. does anyone have any tips in order I can take to manually set the timings + to stabilize system at higher OC?

My system is stable at 245 Mhz, but isn't at 246.. maybe OC hitting its limit but I'm sure its the ram seeing as though the timings are all set to 'Auto' in bios.

Any help appreciated thanks

p.s have been fiddling with my timings for like 2 hours and no luck with 246 mhz.. help:S
