Cool Quietest Affordable PSU

I'm looking at replacing my current PSU, a 450W standard that came with my case. I'd like to keep the same wattage, but more is just fine! I do NOT need SATA power cables or anything special, just a regular ATX PSU. I'm looking for a very quiet one, but for no more than $50. Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated! Thanx!

Pilotwings119, it will be impossible to find a good PSU, for that much. You dont only want high wattage, but high volt rails. Not much to recommend... A good quiet PSU will cost at least 90$.

Check http://quietpc.com/ and http://www.antec.com/us/pro_p_truepw.html. NewEgg of course, but I have found that putting anuthing about "quiet" or "silent" in the keyword search doesn't work very well.

Never heard of the second one, which is not a good sign...

ThermalTake is a name that you can trust. Not a bad price, either.

yeah it is a bad idea to go with an off-brand. do you think that thermaltake would be quiet enough? most of these PSUs don't have noise levels noted on them like cooling fans do, so theres no way to tell!!
