My motherboard somehow managed to catch on fire today (!) and I was wondering something about replacing-
Typically when I replace a motherboard, I have to go through the installation of the software for the new board, of course. I was wondering if I were to replace the board that caught fire with the exact same board if it would just work properly without any configuration changes. I have a bunch of stuff on the hard drive that I don't want to risk getting formatted or anything. It's just a low-end computer that does low-end stuff.
If simply swapping the burned board with the same exact board would work well, that'd make me happy. The board is an ASUS A7V8X-X.
