Default question on idea

Here are my current specs:
2.5 ghz intel processor oced @ 2.925
geforce 5500 fx
512 mb generic pc2100 ddr sdram
foxconn mobo w/ 4x pci slots and 2 ram slots (one used)
120 gb generic hard drive

Here is my question:
Would it be more cost efficient to just upgrade my video card to lets say a 6800gt than to just buy a whole new system with optimal parts?

This system will only be used ocassionally on weekends for games like battlefield and guild wars and wow.

If there is anything I should upgrade what would it be?

I appreciate your time.

Another 512 stick would do some good. And also I would say to just get the new system all at once.

Same here, but since its just a weekend thing then maybe not. I think a 6800Gt would be fine and some PC3200 ram.

Another 512MB stick of RAM and you dont even need a 6800GT for those games.
Save yourself some money and get a 6600GT from newegg.
