Put arctic silver on GPU core?

Ok, if I were to put a small smear of Arctic Silver 5 or Ceramique onto the GPU core between the heatsink, would it be beneficial to my system??

Put some on, spread it out with plastic on your finger, scrape excess off once with a credit card
