I am going to blame Block Lee and this thread for this idea.

What i am thinking about doing is making an Old School Arcade PC. I am currently think about setting this up as a one of those arcade table. Simulare to one of these guys

And from there, I am going to be putting a rather basic PC so I can run ROMs and Classic Arcade games from it. Display will be a 19' or 22' TFT display. I am also thinking about setting this up so I can use my Xbox 360 with it too.

Reason why i am going for a table top as appose to a Upright Arcade Cabinet is so i can use it as an coffee table when i am not gaming.

"coffee table when I am not gaming"

sounds very interesting :)

Why not? What i can have a TFT monitor under a piece of glass. I could possibly have it turned on with a screen saver running too. It I really want to do that, I would want least 22" display.

Simple fact is that I do have a table for when i want to use it as a table.

Right now I am just doing some putting together some conscepts and ideas. I will be moving house shortly so I don't see myself building any thing just yet.

Is it going to look like an arcade system? If so, that is REALLY geeky man...no offense meant by it, just saying. It sounds like a cool idea, i would do it differently though. I would make it a sort of work stations type thing, leaning for you could be sitting on a couch and using it, although it would not really be able to be used for a coffee table.

I say its an amazing idea. Just grab a TV instead of an LCD monitor. If i were you i would try to make it less like the above pic and more like Microsoft's Surface, like a full table sized thing.

You can grab a 32" LCD TV for cheap now adays.
