Default Processor and Mobo compatibility?

I was thinking about upgrading my PC step by step.
Decided to take the first step by upgrading the processor. Just need some assistance to see if it will be compatible with my mobo. (I will upgrade mobo in the near future) If needed I will upgrade Case/Processor/Mobo all at one time after a while.

Processor AMD ATHLON XP 2400 /266 FSB PROCESSOR CPU - RETAIL
Specifications:
CPU: 2.0 GHz
Type: XP 2400 + Thoroughbred
Cache: 256K
BUS: 266 MHz
Socket: A Retail (Box with Heatsink and Fan)

Current Mobo : http://www.ecs.com.tw/products/pd_sp...?product_id=61

Any help would be appreciated.
Thx in advance

Default

just upgrade your mobo too.... get a newer chipset.. and one that is more reliable than those off brand mobos....

Get a Asus A7N8X... you can get one for about $100 on pricewatch... $30 more will get you the deluxe version... most of the benchtests are running that and i have one.. and this mobo will support up to 3000 AMD CPUs and has the nforce chipset which is fast and rocks hard
