Default power supply

hey im looking to buy a power supply and fan that is super quiet and powerfull and i saw this.

To be honest I don't know how loud either are...this one says 'silent', (lol?), and is a lot cheaper, I think...though it's in the US--they ship to other countries:

thermaltake dual fan 480 watt, i recoment that one to everyone who asks about a PSU.

The ebay one you found looks very sketchy. I would go with a brand that you know is reputable. I recomend Antec. Their psu's are great, the voltage rails are very high and stable.

Like AND said, get one of a more reputable brand:

Thermaltake
Antec
Ultra

and I believe OCZ has a couple good PSU's also.

I've never been able to hear my PSU make noise so I doubt you'd come across one that's loud at all unless it was just crap quality.

a 500w PSU for $50 will surely be pretty crappy quality and it's best not to skimp on this part being it's the powerhouse of your system.

Thermaltake does provide a 'pure silent' PSU that has no fans at all, has a huge heatsink sticking out the back

ok then can anyone please give me alink to one that is about 550 watt power supply, is a reliable brand and is quiet. my current computers fan kicks in every now and then and its loud as so a quiet yet powerfull one is on the menu
