the thing with my dell OEM copy is that you get some of the rubbish with it. i dont have a "normal" version to install. oh well.

my usuall procudure is that i try to uninstall as much as i possibly can before i start installing chipset and vga drivers. is this the right way round?

no first, proc drivers (if you have them) then chipset and all the stuff on your mobo like eithernetLAN etc.

then VGA

then ROM drive and stuff

then programs

or some programs might not run correctly after installing drivers
