Default Please evaluate this proposed setup.

if it is not in the list, then I already have it. (Monitor, HD..)

This was not based on best performance, but instead
my budget. I was advised to get a PCI-E mobo but the
price difference was a little too much. I am pretty stable
on taking the 6600GT, and accepting being middle of the
pack until possibly next Christmas. Let me know if the
case and PS is okay.

Thanks for your time and help, us noobs appreciate it.

Also have 1GB of DC-DDR Ram.

Total's about $575.00 - Hoping to be able to play Battlefield 2 and World of Warcraft very well. Thanks!

Plan on Overclocking? If not still looks decent enough to play those games, I personally would go with the 3200+ rather the 3000+

nice computer. I wanted to get the Leadtek 6600gt, but they were sold out when i was buying and the green is just ugly. But based on anandtech.com's reviews it beats out all the other 6600gt's.

Maybe go down to a 754 board, upgrade your CPU and spend the rest on a decent heatsink? idk.

I've heard twice to go with 939 despite - supports dual channel, and something else - overall faster I guess. The board got fantastic reviews too. I am looking maybe into the next step up for processors. Can anyone explain how the AMD works? I am a total Intel person, and how are the processors for AMD 64, in comparison to the Pentium 4's?

Sorry if that's confusing...I mean as to ranking order

1.) AMD 64 3000+ = Pentium 4 2.4ghz
2.) AMD 64 3200+ = Pentium 4 3.x ghz

Is 3000+ going to be horrible in a year's time?

Edit: Never tried over-clocking. The horror stories make me nervous. But I might look into it, keep reading about it...
