http://www.cpudatabase.com/CPUdb/
go to amd in the database and select the very last amd on the list its the 2500+mobile processor Check out the mobo's and the clock speeds which have been achieved. Here check out this thread from pcpitstop.com this is where i learned of it:
http://pcpitstop.ibforums.com/index....T&f=10&t=42526
my settings are 211*12.5 and my voltage is 1.85v

blindapex you have some definite issues effecting your score:
start w/ cntrl+alt+del to open your taskmanager....click on the processes tab....and right click and end process to the following items before taking another test:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qttask.exe QuickTime Icon
C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx.exe ATI taskbar icon
C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe NVIDIA driver helper
C:\Program Files\Common Files\DataViz\DvzIncMsgr.exe
C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXPService.exe
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\PC-cillin 2000\Pop3trap.exe
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\PC-cillin 2000\Tmntsrv.exe
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\PC-cillin 2000\WebTrapNT.exe
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\PC-cillin 2000\pccntupd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Ati2evxx.exe
D:\Program Files\ATITool\ATITool.exe
now your next issue is your 9800pro isnt doing anything but hurting you b/c you still have nvidia drivers in your system....if you see your score your only gettin 55 points on that part b/c of that and me w/ my whimpy old fx5200 are scoring 240 when you should be getting in the 300's w/ your card easy. You also need to seriously defrag...(boot defrag also)...your disks....this is all i can see....i would recommend going to http://pcpitstop.ibforums.com/index.php?act=SF&f=19 and posting for additional help there. There are lots of knowledgeable ppl there who could help even more.

what i really want to know is how that mobile xp2500M which is running at 2625 Mhz compares to an overclocked desktop xp2500?

i hear a mobile processor compared with the same desktop counterpart will run slower than the desktop version, so that number sounds like it might just be a number that means nothing.

is it worth getting the mobile over the desktop xp2500 and can i use just a regular desktop processor heatsink & fan? man, stop trying to tempt me, i got too much invested in my 3 desktop xp2500, LOL . . . .must resist , actually won't be too hard since i am broke til next paycheck

its just as fast if not faster.....and yes its identical in size to your regular processor....you can use any heatsink and fan that is compatible w/ a xp processor......the best 100 bucks i have spent.....it raised my pit score by about 350 points......w/ a abit mobo w/ more voltage options it can go to 2.8 or 2.9 ghz

Why dont you OC it and tell us? From my experience with barton's, I think if you needed 1.7v to get 2.2GHz you may be lucky to hit 2.4GHz. Mine needs a little bump to get to 3200+, slightly different I guess because you only needed the bump for 220*10 if I read right, but I cant really get 2.4GHz without 2.07v or so... maybe too much for an SP-97. I just dont agree with the statement that it is a very good one, decent, but not spectacular. For non mobile bartons, non exotic cooling, 2.3 to 2.4 has been the norm. A lot of poeple had to go through a lot of chips on the quest for 2.5GHz.
