I think performance wise in games, the CPU really doesn't matter all that much, just like ram timings. I mean, we argue over stupid differences in performance, but it's usually very slight in the real world, unless you don't game.

I'd say if money is such a big issue, then you might as well go AMD. It is a decent processor, but doesn't mop the floor.
