Painting my case

I got some older computers from a recent job. The computers weren't to bad, but there was one with an awesome case that I want to mod. I've never messed with cases before, so I was wondering a couple things.

1. Do the plastic parts need to be sanded and then painted? And do I need to use any sort of primer with the Case?

2. What Kind of paint do I use. If I use spray paint, does it need to be thermal?

3. Should I do anything special to the metal frame? or just paint it like the plastic.

for the plastic, just clean it and paint it. No sanding.

For the case itself (metal) sand it with a high grit. (smoother) then spray a few light coats of primer and a few coats of the paint until it has a good even solid finish.

for a smoother finish, sand between coats. it takes longer but you can attain a mirror finish.
