I would definitely take it apart and do it the rite way, Like that guy said......You could always get some thick rubber gloves from the hardware store for a couple bucks.
I would just be careful and take your time.
Why would you use tissue paper? Yes it will work, but I recommend using news paper, masking tape, and a exacto knife.
If your monitor has a textured or rough finish You might want to wet sand it using a spray bottle and some 1,000 or 2,000 grit sand paper before you paint, for a super smooth finish.
With painting it's all about prep work
