I overclocked my Intel Core Duo 2.66Ghz processor to 2.85Ghz, (which is about as high as i can go when using OCCT stress test) Do you think it was worth it? Should I overclock more items? Should I just reset bios? I'm just not sure, as I did not see any visual effect on my gaming.

No there will be no real performance gains from such a small overclock. You might want to buy an after market CPU cooler to decrease the temp so you can clock it higher, but at current level you are probably best to go back to default.

Make sure you read some overclocking guides cause you mentioned it failed OCCT at 2.85gz which means you need to bump up the voltage but i wouldnt advise you to do that on a stock cooler.

well it depends what his temps are. A small increase in vcore isn't going to hurt the stock cooler. You don't state what cpu you have.
