Default Overclocking This Stuff

Ok guys, im new here, and to overclocking aswell. but here's whats up, Ive got:

MSI Micro ATX Mobo.
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz With HT.
ATI Radeon X550
1 Gig of Kingston Ram.
With stock Case power supply.

And i wanted to know if i can overclock this stuff and if so how much, See i play games like Counter Strike Source and HL2. and there laggy over the net, (and my comps not acting like a P4 3.0 in general either) N ive got dsl aswell. i just want to get this thing running faster and cooler. aswell the thing runs at 98 C for god sake WTF. im not rich either so if i can avoid buying all new stuff that would be great. wether its over clocking or anything else any help would be great.

P.S. what is a good free program to get rid of spyware and such, Ive got Norton Anti Viri and system works but it aint doin so hot.

Thanks...

P.S.S. Here's my case... http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=91654

well you will have to buy something. you definitely need a better cpu cooler if that thing is running at that temp without being overclocked. i can't tell you how far you can overclock but you should be able to no problem about that........if you get decent cooling.

Microsoft Windows Defender, Spybot, Ad-Aware. All are free and available from MajorGeeks.com.

While you're there, download O&O Defrag Professional Edition (30 day free trial). It is worth the money to purchase. Let it defrag your hard drive the RIGHT way... to 0% fragmentation.

Invest in a can or two of compressed air to clean out your fan and heatsink. Remove the fan from the sink (four screws) to get the sink cleaned out really good.

Getting a 80mm front fan will probably haelp you out a bit, and possibly replacing the rear 120mm fan with one that spins a little faster and moves more air. If you think you can mod, cut a hole in the side panel across from your CPU and install an intake fan to draw outside air directly onto the HS/F of the CPU.

And once you've cleaned out all the dust, keep the computer on your desk. You don't get as much dust in at as usual. Well, I don't anway.

Swap the cone for a fan and you should see a major difference, especially if you also change out the rear fan.

Cyrax is right. If your case is on the floor it will suck up more dust.

You should clean/blow out your comp at least twice a year, more often if it is dusty where it sits.
