Does this mean I can buy a P4 Northwood 2.4, OC it to 3.4, and it would be exactly the same CPU as the 3.4?

if you can get it up that high while keeping it stable yes. it would actually run fatser because in the process of overclocking you would raise your fsb and ram speeds higher than that of which they would normally run.

Codeine, I had results like that. Nubius, get a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz on Prescott or Northwood with 800 MHz FSB. Then set voltage to full and same with your RAM, then turn up the base to 267 and you will hit 3.2 GHz. Those are the highest I've seen P4 2.4 hit. Yes it is possible to do that w/o water cooling, a decent after market air cooler will do fine.

So what's the difference between the 2.4 and the 3.4 Northwood. Cause they are both Northwood. Does the 2.4 have a lower fixed multiplier?
