Overclocking Factors

This guy got a Pentium 4 520 to run at ~3.8 GHz with an AA8-DuraMAX. That is the board I have. I have stability problems. He pulled up his PCIe frequency. Could that be the reason for my instability?

What factors are there to system stability? PCIe clock, PCI clock...

Yeah but he said he didn't mean to pull up his PCI-E and tried to bring it back down but upon moving the slider it made his system Freeze. So then he contacted ABit and they said they are considering removing this option and that it has known problems. So I don't think he raised it purely for stability so I don't know if raising the PCI-E would solve your problems, infact I really don't see why it would.

The main factors in OC'ing are voltages, bus speeds, and the FSB really, and OC'ing your RAM is also voltages and messing with the timings on them. He didn't really go into extreme depth on how he went about OC'ing his system
