Overclocking the E6600

With just air cooling, how much overclocking do you think could SAFELY be done on this chip? How hard is it? Do you have to do any physical mods or can it all be done in the bios?

do it in the bios. raise the FSB by incraments of 5 and check the stability, then repeat until desired.

how do I check the stability? how much do you think I could realistically overclock it by? I've read that it could go as high as 3.2ghz on air...???

While all chips are different, and there are many variables, I will through out a guess of 3.2 to 3.6 on air. As long as you can keep vcore below 1.4 or so, air cooling should be fine.

I have my E6400 running 3.2 with 1.365 vcore 24/7 on air no problems.

He should just read a guide to overclocking since he doesnt seem to know what hes doing. Dont want to hear "I did what you guys told me and my computer stopped working, WTF!"
