Default overclocking 64bit cpu

im looking to purchase a amd athlon 64bit 3000+ socket 939 512k cache at £85

is this okay for overclocking? im also looking for a good motherboard for this cpu and with overclocking features?

Get the venice core. Stock they run at 1.8ghz and I have seen people run them at 2.6-2.8 range.

what about a mobo, the dfi lanparty looks pretty good but its about £100

much like the winchesters, the later produced weeks aren't doing those speeds....course you might get lucky, but thats up to the OC'ing GODS with that one

DFI Ultra-D is the best OC'ing board...all good socket 939 boards will be fairly expensive
