Default Overclock P4 3.0Ghz LGA775?

Hi!

Can anybody show me in details on how do I overclock my PC? What are the advantages and dis-advantages of overclocking? Details of my PC are as follows:

Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz LGA775
ECS Motherboard 865-M7 (FSB 800)
512 MB DDR 400 Memory
80 GB SATA Hard Drive
GeForce FX5500

Thanks in advance!

You won't yield much of an overclock with that cheap motherboard. You probably have cheap value ram aswell which is perfect if your not overclocking but in you case both the motherboard and the ram will stop you from going anywhere far.
