No, only the FX series allows you to raise the multiplier.

Yep, it's true, no matter what your BIOS tells you you're changing it to, you cant go higher than the stock multiplier. (Assuming you're running a s939 Opty, I'm not familiar with any others!) You can drop the multiplier though....
