Hi all, building my first computer and am currently deciding on four different motherboards.

Hardware consists of:

AOPEN 17in QF50A mid-tower case 300W P4 W/ Front USB and sound

P4 2.8GHz 512K 800FSB

Kingston HyperX Dual Channel PC3200 2x256 DDR400 ram

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 120GB 8MB hard drive

Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB

Deciding on the four following motherboards:

1. INTEL D865PERL http://indigo.intel.com/mbsg/details.aspx?compID=2013

2. Abit IS7-E http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/products.php?categories=1&model=80

3. Asus P4P800 http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socket478/p4p800/overview.HTM

4. Asus P4P800 Deluxe http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socket478/p4p800-d/overview.HTM

All are similar in specs with on board sound, 800FSB, USB 2.0. AGX 8.0. LAN. But some have other programs, over clocking, etc.

Should I maybe get a board that supports firewire? (I don't use it now, and unknown plans in the future)

Any thoughts on the better choice? More reliable?

the ASUS p4800 deluxe is a really nice mobo. My friend has it and he loves it. Bacisally firewire is like faster then USB. Like my friend has it and he uploads videos to his computer since its faster then a USB 2.0. So like if ur into making videos you should get it but if ur not then i think its a waste of money..

I have an ASUS P4C800-D, and I really like it, and I've heard nothing but good things about ASUS motherboards.
