Get the items seperatley so you can get the parts you want. maybe get a amd 64, may push your budget looking at the price of the combo. get better ram cas latency of 3 *shudders*

Yes don't get that combo, you don't want socket A.

Thanks for the responses. Im not looking to spend that much maybe $300 for the motherboard, cpu, and some memory. I dont need the top of the line I realy only use the coputer for the net and some school work, I have a laptop as well. Also im upgrading from an amd 600mhz so anything will be better than that.

Any suggestions of what I should look for, it doesnt have to be amd, I did like the way the 600 ran though.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester

$146.00

Kingmax SuperRAM Series Dual Channel Kit 512MBX2 PC-3200

$82.99

GIGABYTE GA-K8NSC-939 NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb Chipset

$86.00

Total: $314.99

This would be pretty darn fast. And I picked a motherboard on the assumption that you would be using an AGP video card. If you want PCI-Express this one won't work.
