Onboard audio crackling from overclock?

Ive recently upped my overclock which involved increasing voltages, and ive noticed now that my onboard audio is crackling alot. Is there a relation between the two?
Would a PCI card solve this issue?

A PCI card might help but it will still be using the same bus as the on-board sound. Did you adjust the Southbridge voltage? This voltage may need to be raised to keep the Southbridge in sync with an overclocked Northbridge.

Only voltage I can adjust in northbridge. 1.24v stock, sitting at 1.27v right now
