Omega drivers - are they needed?

Im going to overclock my video card and i have heard about these omega drivers.....(www.omegadrivers.net) and im wondering if you have to have them to overclock properly cus i read in another forum that the catalyst drivers reset the clock speeds automatically so you have to use omega drivers. is this true?

I think the reset to default u mention is only applicable to radeon 9600 based cards.
Don't thin it has anything to do with the omega drivers.

Just to add tho i got better performance from the catalyst 4.8 drivers than i did with the omega ones with my old 9600 before i changed card last week.

no it is not true. I have catalysts drivers and my card is overclocked and doesn't reset to default.
