Older CPU, what temp monitor do you trust?
So I decided to pull the E2140 from my Dell and slap it in a MB that could overclock to give it a little workout.
Currently at 2GHz / 1.23v, but it needs a voltage bump to get stable.
Problem is, I'm not sure what temp is accurate.
Sitting idle right now (+20°c @ load) and getting:
HWMonitor - 52°c
RealTemp - 42°c
CoreTemp - 37°c
I have been trusting HWMonitor for my E8400 and Q6600, but getting 72°c with these voltages just seems a little crazy to me, even the Q6600 @ 1.3v on the same cooler didn't get this hot.
